Topic: Holistic Management of HIV/HBV Co-infection

 

Biography:

 

Dr. Anchalee Avihingsanon has over 18 years of experience working in the HIV and co-infection field in resource-limited settings, conducting clinical trials as the principal investigator. She was a project leader in the INSIGHT network and has coordinated several NIH-sponsored trials, including the SMART, START and ACTG ( AIDS Clinical Trial group ) studies. She is also a committee member of the National Hepatitis and National HIV program in Thailand. Dr Anchalee is currently the Clinical Research Site Leader of ACTG for the Thai Red Cross AIDS Research Centre. In addition, Dr Anchalee has extensive expertise in HIV, and HIV-co-infection such as TB, Hepatitis (B and C), pharmacokinetics studies with several sponsors (i.e. NIH), including pharmaceutical-sponsored trials.

Topic: STI Prevention, Testing and Treatment in a Time of Growing Antimicrobial Resistance

 

Biography:

Dr. Nick Medland is a clinical epidemiologist researching the tracking the community impact of clinical interventions on infectious diseases transmission, including HIV and sexually transmitted infection. He is a consultant physician in HIV and sexual health. He is the recipient of an Australian Government NHMRC early career research fellowship with the Surveillance, Evaluation and Research Program at the Kirby Institute for infection and immunity in society, Faculty of Medicine, UNSW. His research focusses on the population effects of biological HIV prevention (pre-exposure prophylaxis and treatment-as-prevention) and clinical, diagnostic and surveillance initiatives to reduce the impact of HIV and STIs on vulnerable populations. He is president-elect of the Australasian Society of HIV, Viral Hepatitis and Sexual Health Medicine, the co-chair of the Australasian Sexual Health Alliance and an executive committee member of the Chapter of Sexual Health Medicine of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians. He has worked extensively in HIV programs in Vietnam.

Topic: Optimising HIV Treatment: What are the Recent Evidences of DTG/3TC in the Switch Setting

 

Biography:

Dr. Laura Waters is a HIV & Sexual consultant and HIV lead at The Mortimer Market Centre, London. She is the National Specialty Advisor for HIV, chairing the group that advises NHS England on HIV treatment and the immediate past chair of the British HIV Association (BHIVA). She has published & presented widely, is a trustee for The Food Chain and previously for the Terrence Higgins Trust and. She teaches regularly at local, regional and national level, including on HIV courses for University College London and the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine.

Initiative to Overcome Barriers in HIV Prevention

 

Biography:

Mr. Joan Reguant graduated nurse from Manresa Nursing School - Autonomous University of Barcelona in 1996, besides a Master in eHealth and a Degree in Political Science and Public Administration. After twenty-three years of clinical practice in adult and pediatric intensive care units in different Catalan hospitals, he switched in 2019 his clinical work to BCN Checkpoint, a community center for Men Who have Sex with Men and Transgender Women for the prevention, screening, and treatment of HIV and other STIs. His responsibilities focus on clinical and pharmacological trials, the PrEP program, vaccination programs and promotion of sex-related health in MSM.
